Nuclear Paranoia?

This is a short article from Channel 4 news yesterday which interviews the lady behind tenner films who make lots of films about the nuclear industry in an attempt to counter some of the propaganda put out there by the nuclear industry.

Fuel pond re-criticality risk

there is over 40 yrs of waste in these ponds, it's thought that they went critical again yesterday as there was a huge spike in radiation yesterday.

Vigil for Fukushima

There will be a vigil, this Saturday from 12pm - 2pm
at the centre opposite the Hippodrome in Bristol

Called by South West Against Nuclear.
To stand in solidarity with the people of Japan in their hour of need.

From Fukushima to Hinkley point and all around the world it's time to say NO to ALL nuclear power now, it's not worth the risk.

Later on on Saturday evening there will be a fundraiser event to raise money for SWAN at the Lab Bar Broad street Bristol

Plant abandoned reactor vessel at 3 is cracked...TEPCOs lies are being exposed

I can't even comprehend this. This is terrible 6 reactors one burning MOX fuel and all of the high level waste that is stored there this is going to create devastation on a global scale surely?

They're talking about TEPCO lying and falsifying documents - make no mistake this is standard practise across the global  nuclear industry there are countless people who have left the industry some because of the corners that are cut with safety. And all for what so these people can make a fast buck.

Well we're all going to find out what's really important now money? or water & food? It's hard to gauge at this stage exactly what the extent of contamination of these will, be save to say that Chernobyl will look like a children's party after this one. these contaminanants be in global circulation very quickly. Plutonium (half life 24,000 years) and the other Actinides that will be being released as we speak.

I cant believe that the most this has prompted around the world is a "review" of Government policies on nuclear energy. Governments around the world right now should be:

  1. Closing down all Nuclear facilities immediately (Including ensuring that all fo the other Japanese reactors are closed down immediately and defuelled as promptly as can be achieved).
  2. Bringing in outside expertise to manage this process - it should not be left to the nuclear industry to carry this out as has been demostrated time and again they are not capable of doing this anywhere. (At the very least this should be done in collaberation with all of the considerable expertise of those who have always been raising these concerns for the last 50 odd years.
  3. The use of Public relations companies by these this industry should be banned immediately and the use of the CIA and other "Intelligence Agencies" should be stopped right now - people have a right to know what is going on.
  4. Doing some serious work on the fallout implications for global food & water supply -  again this needs to be carried out by independant experts -The Union of concerned Scientists would be a good starting place
  5. Having a serious realistic dialogue about waste storage - The recent presentation by the Nuclear Decommissioning Association found here: NDA presentation shows what a load of rubbish global policy on waste storage is. No Country has formally adopted GDF as a solution (nor should they)
(My humble opinion is that Waste should be kept close to the surface & should be fully retrievable). Human nature dictates that if we leave it 'out of sight out if mind' that we'll be in even more dire trouble than we are already).

I think the ramifications of this are so huge that its difficult to contemplate them right now, but contemplate them we must. If we allow the global governing elite to pedal their lies any further this will only exacerbate the awful situation that we are all in.

These people have been successfully covering up the true impacts of chernobyl for the last 25 years. The truth is out there and continues to be spoken by those of us that know it. Already we have a catastrophe that is going to be probably many  times worse than Chernobyl because it is involves (at the moment) 4 reactors Highly active spent fuel, as well as the MOX that is involved means that we cannot emphasise enough the implications of what is going on.

Before I finish this I say this not because I'm a pessimist or because I want to scare you, but because I want to empower you to make informed decisions about the situation that is unfolding and because I believe that how we deal with this at a global scale will be critical to the survival of the human race.

A chilling warning that came from Green Action Japan 3 years ago that went unheeded

my goodness this makes for damning reading there should be a warrent out for the arrest of all TEPCO decision makers. Please read this article and share it far & wide. This situation  was predictied by those concerned about nuclear developments in Japan.

Cover Up Of Fukushima Chain Reaction Underway

theres a nuclear chain reaction underway & they're still trying to cover it up. They dont want the rest of the world to come out & insist that ALL nuclear is closed down now.

Write to your MP now and demand an immediate halt to nuclear production in your area. Ian Liddell Grainger MP for Bridgwater & West somerset can be written to here:

Nuclear Catastrophe of unimaginable proportions imminent

I don't know what to say... words fail me. The only thing that springs to my mind right now are the words of Albert Einstein:

"the splitting of the atom has changed everything except our way of thinking, and thus we drift towards unparallelled catastrophe"

Third explosion at Fukoshima reactor number 2

We should call for a complete evacuation of Japan, Just how are they going to maintain the rest of their reactors around the country when the whole place is contaminated.? All the high level waste at Fukoshima is stored in a pool just above & to the right of the core.

This is so awful it's hard to imagine what the real scale of this crisis is, we need to get the survivors out of Japan....

Radiation levels exactly 1,000 times above safel levels still? Really?

The daily mail was reporting that radiation levels were 1,000 times above safe levels on thursday/friday before reactor number 1 blew up.

They have continued to report this same figure right through no#1 and no#3 blowing up. Anybody smell anything fishy going on here?

Solidarity with the people of Japan

I've just been looking at my stats & I notice that there is someone looking at my blog from Japan.
I don't have a clue who you are and can't even imagine what must be going through your mind right now, but I want you to know that you are very much in our thoughts & prayers xx

sounds like there are reports of explosion @ no#3!

reactor 3 has blown up! the unthinklable has happened 2 of the 6 reactors at fukushima Daiiachi have exploded reactor No#2 has also lost cooling oh & by the way did I tell you that this is where they keep all of their High Level Nuclear waste?

From Fukushima to Hinkley SWAN Condemns the arrogance of the Nuclear Industry

Campaign group, South West Against Nuclear have come out today to express sympathy and solidarity with the people of Japan who are not only facing an unimaginable natural disaster, but also a rapidly unfolding disaster that has human handprints  all over it.

Says Debbie Richards" The Japanese Authorities have known for some time that they were due for a "big one" Whilst TEPCO knew that there were problems with their backup generators following the earhquake that rocked Fukushima #1 Plant in June just last summer"(1)

Whilst we know that the governments want people to remain calm we absolutely condemn the duplicity of so-called nuclear experts for deliberately misleading the public about what is happening in Japan, their assurances are completely unfounded. (2)

This sort of misinformation happened after Chernobyl and is one of the reasons that there was so much health damage to the people of Chernobyl.(3)

It's about time the people inside the nuclear industry faced up to the facts about nuclear power it is not safe and we do not need it - No to Nuclear New build in the UK.

We will be outside EDFs offices in Bridgwater this morning (Monday) from 10am until 11am, to demand that EDF owners of British Energy cease all nuclear generation at all of their sites in the UK and put an end to half a century of nuclear madness and to express our sympathy for the Japanese victims of this double disaster. The Nuclear industry is & always has been a killer.

And the nuclear industrys in the UKs response to Japan? JOB PROPAGANDA

These people are sick as a nuclear reactor burns and more threaten to explode the Nuclear P.R firms are at it promising a job bonanza in the UK more lies (see my earlier article about EDFs job lies)

These people are phsycopaths...

That they can even suggest it at a time when the whole world is being exposed to the core of reactor no 1 beggars belief.

We could create jobs by building concentration camps - it doesnt mean we should.

We could create far more safer permanant jobs in the renewables sector if politicians developed guts and stood up to these people - but what am I talking about these are the same politicians who are on a promise of a job in these industries at the end of their political careers......

Japan attempts to evacuate its people in the face of the worlds worst nuclear emergency

Japan is attempting to evacuate it's people in the face of what is set to be the worst nuclear incident the world has ever seen.

Not only has reactor no#1 exploded creating TOTAL EXPOSURE of its core to the environment but reactors 2 & 3 have also lost cooling.

The chances of the poor workers being able to bring 2 & 3 under control must be slim to none as they will be dying as they work due to the massive doses of radiation they will be receiveing just as happened with Chernobyl.

To make matters worse reactor 3 is burning MOX which is Uranium & Plutonium who knows what the imapct of that will be when it escapes into the environment or the consequences for us all...

The Japanese will be totally up against it trying to evacuate & protect their population too, their emergency services are already stretched to breaking point, their transport infrastructure is hopelessly damaged with no trains and roads torn up by the quake.

Those poor people.

The Citizens' Nuclear Information Center (CNIC) Statement re the Nuclear and Earthquake Disaster Unfolding in Japan

Statement re the Nuclear and Earthquake Disaster Unfolding in Japan
The Citizens' Nuclear Information Center (CNIC) is deeply concerned for
the health and safety of the people affected by the earthquakes and
tsunamis that have struck Japan over the last two days. We are
particularly concerned for the people in the vicinity of nuclear power
plants, including workers who are trying to minimize the scope of the
disaster.
Unit 1 of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is in a state of
meltdown. A nuclear disaster which the promoters of nuclear power in
Japan said wouldn't happen is in progress. It is occurring as a result
of an earthquake that they said would not happen.
This could and should have been predicted. It was predicted by
scientists and NGOs such as CNIC. We warned that Japan's nuclear power
plants could be subjected to much stronger earthquakes and much bigger
tsunamis than they were designed to withstand.
Besides the question about how this accident will unfold, the big
question now is, will the government and the nuclear industry
acknowledge its mistakes and change track?
Last December the Japanese government began a review of its nuclear
energy policy. The review was commenced in the spirit of essentially
confirming the existing policy. That approach is no longer viable. The
direction of the policy review must be completely reversed. It must be
redirected towards developing a policy of phasing out nuclear energy as
smoothly and swiftly as possible.

Japanese Government Confirms Meltdown | STRATFOR

Japanese Government Confirms Meltdown | STRATFOR

Ignore what the media are saying NISA (the Japanese nuclear regulators) are confirming that the explosion could only have come from the reactor core melting down.

Read this article:

Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) said March 12 that the explosion at the Fukushima Daiichi No. 1 nuclear plant could only have been caused by a meltdown of the reactor core, Japanese daily Nikkei reported. This statement seemed somewhat at odds with Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano’s comments earlier March 12, in which he said “the walls of the building containing the reactor were destroyed, meaning that the metal container encasing the reactor did not explode.”

NISA’s statement is significant because it is the government agency that reports to the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy within the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. NISA works in conjunction with the Atomic Energy Commission. Its role is to provide oversight to the industry and is responsible for signing off construction of new plants, among other things. It has been criticized for approving nuclear plants on geological fault lines and for an alleged conflict of interest in regulating the nuclear sector. It was NISA that issued the order for the opening of the valve to release pressure — and thus allegedly some radiation — from the Fukushima power plant.

NISA has also overseen the entire government response to the nuclear reactor problems following the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. It is difficult to determine at this point whether the NISA statement is accurate, as the Nikkei report has not been corroborated by others. It is also not clear from the context whether NISA is stating the conclusions of an official assessment or simply making a statement. However, the Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO), the operator of the Fukushima nuclear plant, also said that although it had relieved pressure, nevertheless some nuclear fuel had melted and further action was necessary to contain the pressure.

If this report is accurate, it would not be the first time statements by NISA and Edano have diverged. When Edano earlier claimed that radiation levels had fallen at the site after the depressurization efforts, NISA claimed they had risen due to the release of radioactive vapors.

More rubbish from TEPCO

I can't believe that they're saying that the reactor core primary containment is not breached. Work it out - if the primary containment was in tact there wouldn't have been an explosion. This is a boiling water reactor there is no secondary water system the core heats the water directly (making it radioactive), it then drives the turbine directly, once its been through the turbine the steam is forced through a condensor where it's turned back into water & pumped back through the core. when heat builds up in a reactor core, if the core isn't kept cooled the radioactive decay creates Hydrogen which is highly explosive.

If the core had not overheated then there would have been nothing to explode would there???

I read yesterday that these Boiling water reactors are widely crticised WITHIN
the nukiller industry as being 90% more likely to breach containment in the event of a nuclear incident.

Check out this factsheet about Boiling Water Reactors

I'm sure their figures of 160 people with radiation poisoning is hugely under-reported too.

News report saying that explosion here will be 10 times worse than Chernobyl

this report is from before the plant exploded saying it will be far more serious contamination than Chernobyl because the plant at Fukushima is far more powerful than the reactor at Chernobyl was...

Add to that the fact that like I said in my last post, this plant has been operational for 40 years and presto global disaster.

They're trying to say that a lot of the contamination will land in the Pacific so we'll be ok  - rubbish.

MORE BLOODY LIES! there is nowhere safe the oceans & the atmosphere circulate all that this ensures is that contamination will be widespread.

Wake up people!

Fukushima has exploded

I'm so angry! I can't believe these people are getting away with saying that the emmissions from fukushima are only "slightly" radioactive & that the the containment isn't breached or that our govt are going to send our rescue workers out there whilst not being properly informed about the danger they may face from from this explosion. This is could render significant parts of Japan un-inhabitable, just look at the exclusion zone @ Chernobyl.

They are trying to say that that it wont be as bad as Chernobyl, I think that it could be far worse, Chernobyl had only been operational for 2 years when it exploded, this plant has been operating for 40 years.

The way that this is being spun by both governments & the media is absolutely criminal,

It'll only be a matter of days until it starts setting off alarms off at other plants...

Fukushima plant No1 just started burning MOX fuel in September last year

Fukushima plant No1 just started burning MOX fuel in September last year, in its reactor no #3, at the moment they are saying that the cooling problem is with reactor no#1 but who knows? you cant trust a word these people say they go to all sorts of lengths to conceal the truth, hope its not a MOX reactor thats in danger of melting down....

Drafted this earlier about 5pm fri night, just been reading the NIRS fact sheet about Fukushima http://www.nirs.org/reactorwatch/accidents/Fukushimafactsheet.pdf which reveals that this plant Fukushima #1 had problems last year when affected by a quake with guess what? - it's back up generators!

Doh!
