More rubbish from TEPCO

I can't believe that they're saying that the reactor core primary containment is not breached. Work it out - if the primary containment was in tact there wouldn't have been an explosion. This is a boiling water reactor there is no secondary water system the core heats the water directly (making it radioactive), it then drives the turbine directly, once its been through the turbine the steam is forced through a condensor where it's turned back into water & pumped back through the core. when heat builds up in a reactor core, if the core isn't kept cooled the radioactive decay creates Hydrogen which is highly explosive.

If the core had not overheated then there would have been nothing to explode would there???

I read yesterday that these Boiling water reactors are widely crticised WITHIN
the nukiller industry as being 90% more likely to breach containment in the event of a nuclear incident.
