This blog aims to share info, my thoughts (including rants from time to time), reflections on, and feelings about, the nuclear industry and my experiences as an anti-nuclear activist, living near what is set to be the battleground for the nuclear new build plans for the UK, here in Somerset.

NFLA's response to the Weightman review
In April the NFLA criticised the governments Weightman review as to 'hasty' given that the very recent IAEA conference in Vienna indicated that no firm decisions should be made until AFTER the incident in Fukushima is brought under control. The NFLA felt that a six month review of safety in the UK pre-empts the bringing under control of the incident in Japan.
The NFLA's latest briefing (Briefing no 83) attempts to bring a non-technical overview of the Fukushima disaster, the subsequent Weightman nuclear safety review and the national and international implications of the disaster on aspects of nuclear and wider energy policy. please click on any of the links to read this document.
