Never mind subsidising Nuclear New Build cough up for a new Sarcophagus @ Chernobyl

The European Commission are urging the international community to stick their hands in their pockets to pay for the much needed half built replacement sarcophagus for Chernobyl's reactor #4.

I'm afraid that I don't share their optimism that foreign governments will pay up, the UK have been asked but so far no pledges have been made. What the F**k do governments around the world think that they're playing at building more of these, when they cant even sort out the deadly legacy of the ones that we're already stuck with?

I cant believe that people are so brainwashed that they think more are a good idea, not jobs, not climate change, not nothing justifies risking the health of every single living organism on the planet in suvh a fundamental way. The consequences of radioactivity are well documented and invisible to us when we are being contaminated (as we all have been continously since WWII).

Climate modelling contains enough uncertainty that we can't say the results are definitely how things are going to be in the future only that they are a possibility, people forget this.

Nuclear pollution is a a false solution to climate change it will only suck away resources from investing in truly green alternatives and the behavioural change that we so desperately need if we are really serious about tackling our impacts on Earth & her systems. The mindset that creates a problem is rarely the mindset that solves it.
